    Supreme Court will continue hearing today the PIL on the #Lakhmipurkheri incident.

    The Supreme Court had on 26th October directed the State of UP to provide protection to the witnesses of the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence. The Court also directed the State of UP to ensure that the statements of relevant witnesses are recorded by the Judicial Magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC.

     The court had also directed to file separate replies in counter-case of lynching of a person named Shyam Sunder & a journalist Raman Kashyap. 

    Lakhimpur Kheri violence of October 3, which claimed the lives of 8 people, four of them being farmers, was allegedly mowed down by the vehicles in the convoy of Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister and BJP MP Ajay Kumar Mishra.

      Salve: I’ve understood give me a week’s time

      J Kant: to ensure that evidence in FIR 219 & 220 are recorded independently we are inclined to appoint former judge from different HC to monitor investigation on day to day basis.
