A plea averring that the Muslim Community of Nuh, Haryana are overpowering Hindus of the area has been filed in the Supreme Court, praying for their protection.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain has filed the petition stating that local police has failed to exercise powers as a result of which the life and liberty of Hindus is in peril.

Citizens of Nuh are having to lead animalistic lives, the plea alleges that "anti-national elements" are very active in the area.

The state of Haryana failed to "disclose the facts of various FIRs and complaints of various heinous crimes, lodged by Hindus against Muslims for their tortures and atrocities committed on them, leave apart taking any action on the said FIRs or complaints," the plea states.

"A number of Hindus have been forcibly converted to Islam and a number of Hindu women and minor girls have been abducted and raped. The Hindu women are not safe at all. The Muslims at a large number have committed atrocities on members of Schedule caste."

    - Plea in SC

In this context, the plea has sought formulation of a top court monitored Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of members of the CBI & NIA to look into aspects as forceful conversions, rapes of Hindu women and illegal encroachment of properties.

It is stated that since rights of the Hindus in the area are "eroded by members of Muslim community who are in dominating position and the State Government as well as District Administration," intervention of the Court becomes pertinent.

The plea further states that evidence collated by a committee which visited the area suggested that over 400 villages, 103 have become totally devoid of Hindu populace.

This report has been provided to the Chief Minister of Haryana as well, the petitioner states.

Alleging that Muslims under the patronage of the Tablighi Jamaat have gradually increased their strength "the position is that Hindus Population is decreasing", the plea states that the populace has come down from 20% to 10-11% since the last census 2011.

It further raises grounds such as whether the Central Government is under Constitutional obligation to deploy Armed Force/Paramilitary force to protect the District Mewat Nuh from internal disturbance in exercise of the powers vested in it under Article 355 of the Constitution of India?

Additionally, the petitioner has sought nullification of sale deeds executed by Hindus in favour of Muslims for the last 10 years, alleging that they were executed under coercion and undue influence.
