NEET PG 2025 : Supreme Court Issues Notice On 3 Petitions Seeking Publication Of Answer Keys

The Supreme Court today(September 26) issued notice in three petitions seeking publication of the answer keys in the NEET-PG exam.A bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice KV Viswanathan considered the matter. It was submitted to the Court that more than 2 lakh students appeared in the exam, and 20 petitioners have approached the Court in Meghraj Roy's petition seeking not just disclosure of questions and answer keys but also raising issues of transparency. On this, Justice Pardiwala asked: "In the 2 lac students who appeared in the NEET PG, why only 14 have approached us?"Senior Advocate Shikhil Suri, who appeared in one of the matters, submitted that the petitioners are not trying to interfere with the counselling process, which will begin consequently since the results have been declared. But the issue of non-disclosure of answer keys is going to impact a large number of students. Another counsel, appearing in Meghraj Roy case, stated that although 20 petitioners have approached this Court, they have made a Google form in which around 2000 students have signed. He requested that this matter be de-tagged from the rest of the petitioners, as it raises larger questions and is not restricted to the disclosure of answer keys only. Although the Court issued notices, Justice Pardiwala orally remarked: "When do you study? You should get out of all this litigation. Concentrate on your studies. If you keep coming here, complaining this is not correct, that is not correct. Stand on your own merit. Out of 2 lacs students who appeared, why do a handful of students have complaints to make?"The Court also heard other connected matters, including Ayush Patel vs. NBE, Manjunath vs. NBE and Arushi Mishra, in which notices were issued earlier. The petitioners in these three petitions were represented through Advocate Tanvi Dubey.The Court will hear the matter after four weeks. The writ petitions has been filed seeking measures to ensure increased transparency in the NEET-PG exam, including the publication of answer keys. On April 29, in another matter, the Court directed publication of raw scores, answer keys, and normalisation formulae for transparency.
