Ready To Publish CLAT UG 2025 Revised Results Today Evening, NLU Consortium Tells Supreme Court

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) today (May 16) informed the Supreme Court that they are ready to publish the revised results of the CLAT-UG 2025 and are waiting for the uploading of the final order passed by the Supreme Court on May 7, where directions were passed to rectify certain mistakes in answer keys.When Chief Justice of India BR Gavai said that the May 7 order will be uploaded today itself, the Consortium's lawyer said that the results can also be published within two hours of the uploading of the order.The bench of CJI BR Gavai and Justice AG Masih was hearing a Special Leave Petition filed by CLAT candidate Hardik Garg, who has challenged the CLAT 2025 Exams. Advocate Arun Sri Kumar, for the NLU Consortium, informed the bench that the petitioner ought to have approached the Supreme Court earlier, since the Consortium had notified on its website that the CLAT-UG result was sub judice in the Supreme Court and that the hearing was scheduled on May 7. On May 7, the Court issued directions for the deletion of certain questions and giving marks for certain answers. He further said that the final order of May 7 was yet to be uploaded. Kumar said, "We are just awaiting the final order, then we will publish the results in 2 hours. We have instructed the vendor on the basis of the oral dictation, if the order comes we will release it (results)." CJI then said,"the order will be out today." "We will publish the result this evening," Kumar replied.CJI informed that the order was already signed yesterday. CJI then added, "We will just publish right now (the final order)." As regards the petition, the Court refused to entertain it, saying, "This cannot go on."Background The exam held on December 1, 2024, ran into controversies due to complaints regarding questions. In December 2024, a single judge of the Delhi High Court found that two answers of the CLAT-UG 2025 exam were wrong and asked the Consortium to revise the results of the petitioners. The Consortium appealed to the division bench against the Judgment. On April 23, 2025, a division bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela decided the Consortium's appeal and ordered certain revisions.
