The Supreme Court on Tuesday registered a suo moto contempt of court case against Advocate Prashant Bhushan and Twitter India.
The matter is listed before a bench comprising Justices Arun Mishra, B R Gavai and Krishna Murari tomorrow, July 22.
As per SC records, the suo moto case - numbered as SMC(Crl) 1/2020 - is seen registered at 3.48 PM today.
The cause of action for the suo moto proceedings is yet to be known.
Also, a contempt case registered in 2009 against Bhushan and Tarun Tejpal, former Editor of Tehelka magazine, is listed for hearing before the same bench on July 24. The case relates to certain remarks made by Bhushan against former Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia in an interview to Tehelka magazine.
