J Chandrachud : Mr Solicitor, a little bit of assistance from the State of UP, see the application filed by Mr.Hari Shankar Jain, saying a shiv ling has been found in the mosque and seeks directions to seal the place and to restrict number of Muslims offering namaz

SG Mehta : We have communication from son of Hari Shankar Jain that he had cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital.

J Chandrachud : Mr Solicitor, what we will do is, you have the papers?

SG : I don't have the papers. I am for the State, we don't take sides.

Ahmadi: Mr Jain signed application himself on 16th before Trial Court. It was moved and allowed within one hour by the Trial Court.

SG Mehta (for UP) : We don't have the papers..

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta submits that he is appearing for State of UP.

J Chandrachud : Who is appearing for the plaintiff?

Counsel for state of UP submits that the plaintiff's lawyer Hari Shankar Jain is hospitalized.

Ahmadi : The orders right from the beginning, including the one taking cognizance of the suit and the subsequent orders, are illegal. I can show that. Read Section 3 #PlacesOfWorshipAct and the prayers of the suit. The application also seeks that the namaz be restricted.

Ahmadi : And what is the basis of the suit- that there is a historical wrong committed. In Ayodhya case, this court has held that can't be the basis of a claim.

J Chandrachud : What is the status of survey?

Ahmadi : How can they seal the premises? There’s a string of illegal orders. If you seal the premise, you’re altering status quo. Section 3 of the Act makes it clear that it can't be done.
