The Supreme Court, on Monday, directed that the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Mains Examination, which was earlier stayed as it clashed with the schedule of the Preliminary Exam of Madhya Pradesh Civil Judge, Junior Division (Entry Level) Exam -2021 to be held on 20, 21 and 22 May, 2022.

"Counsels for the High Court as well PSC have obtained instruction and stated they would hold the examination on 20, 21 and 22nd May, 2022. In view of the aforementioned we dispose of this WP, with the direction that the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Mains exam be held on 20, 21 and 22 May."

The Counsels appearing on behalf of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Public Service Commission informed a Bench comprising Justice Vineet Saran and Justice JK Maheshwari, that as per instructions received the said exam can be postponed to 20, 21 and 22 May.

On the last date of hearing, as an interim measure, the Bench had stayed the Mains Examination of Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) - 2021 which was to be conducted from May 6 to May 8. The Bench had asked the Punjab and Haryana High Court to either inform it of the rescheduled dates on the next date of hearing or assist the Court in fixing new dates.

The Mains Examination was initially scheduled for 15th to 17th April, 2022 (tentative) which on 22.03.2022 was postponed and finalized for being conducted on 22nd to 24th April, 2022, because of there being a clash of dates with Delhi Judicial Services examination. Thereafter, by way of a notification dated 30.03.2022, the dates were again postponed to 6th to 8th May.
