The Central Government on Saturday (September 5) notified appointments of Chief Justices at eight High Courts.

Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal took to X (formerly Twitter) to notify the appointments:

"In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the President is pleased to appoint the following High Court Judges as Chief Justices of the High Courts..."

The eight appointees are:

1. Delhi High Court judge Justice V. Kameswar Rao is appointed as Chief Justice of Patna High Court

2. Bombay High Court judge Justice Ravindra V Ghuge is appointed as Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court

3. Chhattisgarh High Court judge Justice Sanjay Kumar Agrawal is appointed as Chief Justice of Rajasthan High COurt

4. Allahabad High Court judge Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi is appointed as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

5. Punjab & Haryana High Court judge Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra is appointed as Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court

6. Orissa High Court judge Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra is appointed as Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court

7. Gujarat High Court judge Justice Alpesh Yeshvant Kogje is appointed as Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court

8. Rajasthan High Court judge Justice Pushpendra Singh Bhati is appointed as Chief Justice of J&K And Ladakh High Court

The Supreme Court collegium had made the recommendations on August 9 and August 31.
