Complaint Before Delhi High Court Against Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Leaders For 'Unauthorizedly' Circulating Justice SK Sharma's Recusal Hearing

A complaint has been filed before the Delhi High Court's Registrar General against AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal, other leaders of the party as well as journalist Ravish Kumar for “unauthorizedly” recording and circulating videos of proceedings before Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma on social media. The complaint has been filed by Advocate Vaibhav Singh alleging that the politicians have unauthorizely recorded the court proceedings that happened on April 13 while Kejriwal was appearing in person seeking recusal of Justice Sharma. Seeking a detailed inquiry in the matter and action against the AAP leaders, Singh has said that recording the court proceedings is in violation of the Delhi High Court Video Conferencing Rules. It may be recalled that on April 13, Justice Sharma had reserved orders on the applications filed by Kejriwal and other accused, seeking her recusal from hearing the revision petition filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation challenging the discharge of all the accused in the liquor policy case.As per Singh, Kejriwal made “frivolous, scandalous and misleading submissions” before Justice SK Sharma, without any basis.“That several leader of Aam Aadmi Party including members of various other opposition parties have intentionally and deliberately and with the wilful intention to malign the image of this Hon'ble Court and to manipulate / misguide and also to make negative image of this institutions nationally and globally and also in eyes of general public living in India and outside India the court proceedings had done the video and audio recording of the court proceedings and circulated on various social media platforms,” Singh has said. Further, the complaint says that the audio/video recording of the Court Proceedings was circulated on X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and various new channels, shared, retweeted and posted by various political leaders. It adds that the way the content got viral on social media “smells of deep conspiracy” by Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of Aam Admi Party to “malign the image of judiciary” and also to mislead the common people that the judiciary is working on the behest of some political parties and also under the pressure of the Central Government.“That the above circumstance smells that this was a preplanned conspiracy and dirty strategy to record the audio/video recording of the court proceedings hatched by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and his party members. That Mr. Kejriwal permission to argue his recusal application on 13.04.2026 was part of some conspiracy to gain public sentiments and malign the image of this noble institution,” Singh has said. Except for Kejriwal, the complaint also names politicians- Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Sanjeev Jha, Punardeep Sawhney, Jarnail Singh, Mukesh Ahlawat, Vinayy Mishra. It also names journalist Ravish Kumar and many others.
