The Delhi High Court has directed the authorities to communicate to Jai Anmol Ambani, son of industrialist Anil Ambani, as to whether any Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against him is still subsisting within four weeks.
Justice Vimal Kumar Yadav passed the direction while disposing of a petition filed by Anmol Ambani seeking disclosure of any subsisting LOC issued against him.
The Court was informed by the Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the Bureau of Immigration, along with the Special Public Prosecutor appearing for the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), that the communication in question was directly addressed to the Chief Immigration Officer, with a copy merely endorsed to the authorities.
The Central Government Standing Counsel further submitted that the authorities would treat the petition as a representation and transmit the requisite information to Ambani in a time-bound manner.
Ambani's counsel agreed to the proposal and expressed no objection to the disposal of the petition on that basis.
In view of the submissions, the Court directed the authorities to send the requisite communication to Ambani within four weeks.
In a related news, a coordinate bench had directed the authorities to provide Jai Anshul Ambani, other son of Anil Ambani, specific details of the Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against him, including the date of its issuance, and a copy of the formal order.
