    The Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law (CICTL), Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, in collaboration with the Justice M. L. Pendse Chair in Environmental Law, has announced the CICTL Blog Writing Competition, 2025.

    Established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014, Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is one of India's premier National Law Universities, committed to excellence in legal education and society-oriented legal research.     About the Organisers

    The Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law (CICTL) at MNLU Mumbai actively promotes research and dialogue at the intersection of law, technology, and public policy. The Centre regularly conducts workshops, symposiums, colloquiums, and stakeholder consultations on emerging techno-legal issues.
    The Justice M. L. Pendse Chair in Environmental Law focuses on advanced research in environmental law and policy, contributing meaningfully to academic scholarship and legal reform.

    About the Competition

    The CICTL Blog Writing Competition, 2025 invites original, unpublished analytical blog posts addressing legal, regulatory, and policy issues relating to Artificial Intelligence, Environmental Law, and Data Privacy. Submissions offering doctrinal, comparative, empirical, or normative perspectives are encouraged.

    Eligibility and Submission Guidelines

    The competition is open All students enrolled in 5-Year or 3-Year Courses from law Colleges and Faculties/ Departments of Law in India, recognized by Bar Council of India. Submissions may be authored individually or jointly by a maximum of two authors. The word limit is 1500–2000 words (excluding endnotes). All submissions must be anonymised, original, and not under consideration elsewhere.

    Prizes and Recognition

    Winner: ₹7,000 and Certificate of Merit

    First Runner-Up: ₹5,000 and Certificate of Merit

    Second Runner-Up: ₹3,000 and Certificate of Merit

    All winning entries will be published on the CICTL Blog and featured on CICTL's official social media platforms. The winners and the first runners-up will be considered for a paid internship opportunity with Royzz & Co. and Burger King India. (The Burger King India internship will be subject to interview round.)

    Registration

    The registration fee is Rs. 300 for single authorship and Rs. 500 for co-authorship. Submissions must be made through the registration link provided in the brochure. The brochure is attached here.

    Timeline

    Registration deadline: 15th January 2026.

    Submission deadline: 20th January, 2026

    Result date: 7th March, 2026
