    Centre for Mediation and Research (CMR), Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai) is offering a Two-year Program in “Master of Arts in Mediation & Conflict Resolution for Executives” for the year 2026-2028. The program is the first of its kind and is offered with an Exit option after one year with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. The admissions shall be conducted on a first-come first-serve basis. Below are the details of the program.

    About MNLU Mumbai

    Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai has been established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act VI of 2014 as one of the premier National Law Universities in India. The establishment of National Law University in Maharashtra under the Act has been envisaged with the intent of imparting advanced legal education and promoting society-oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of social welfare. The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced knowledge of the law and allied subjects and foster the spirit of law amongst the students, and to impart them the skills relevant to advocacy, legal services and law reforms, thereby make them capable of utilizing their skills and knowledge for social transformation, development, and nation building.     The University offers BA. LL.B.(Hons.) & BBA. LL.B.(Hons.) five years of integrated programs, and one-year LL.M. program in Corporate and Commercial Laws, Constitutional & Administrative Law, Maritime Law, LL.M. (Investment and Securities Laws) in association with National Institute of Security Management (NISM), Master of Arts in Mediation & Conflict Resolution for Executives, Ph.D. Program, and is in the process of releasing six PG Diplomas. The Program structure and curriculum of the University have been carefully designed by a team of dedicated faculty members with guidance from distinguished industry experts and academicians to ensure academic rigour and relevance. Hon'ble Justice Alok Aradhe, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Chancellor and Hon'ble Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge, Chief Justice of Bombay High Court & Pro-Chancellor guide and inspire with their novel ideas and rich experience in law. Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Ukey, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of the University and an eminent scholar in the field of law is spearheading the University to achieve newer heights. Serving as the Registrar of the University, Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Chaudhary with his illustrious academic and administrative career is guiding the University towards academic distinction.

    About the Program

    Conflict is an inevitable element of our life and Mediation serves as a structured framework that helps in navigating diverse human interests. The Master of Arts in Mediation & Conflict Resolution for Executives is introduced to equip students, academicians and professionals with an array of skills and expertise in the world of dispute resolution. Besides mastering practical skills, and developing academic insights into theory, the program also offers Exit Option after one year (completion of 40 credits), which will be recognized as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Resolution. Regardless of one's profession, Mediation can be a significant game changer in dealing with life issues. With the skill sets it promises, the Program will bolster participants' social and professional standing and make them more valuable as personnel by strengthening their ability to lead, negotiate and resolve conflicts across diverse settings. This is a practice-oriented program with an exceptional faculty of scholars and practitioners covering a wide spectrum of mediation, conflict management, and resolution.

    TOTAL NUMBER OF SEATS

    The total number of seats is 30. However, the University reserves the right to alter the

    number of seats for the program in a given academic year without prior notice.

    NOTE: (Reservation: As per Maharashtra Government Rules.)

    ELIGIBILITY

    A Degree in any discipline. Final year students are also eligible to apply.

    EXAMINATION SCHEME

    The evaluation of participants in the program will be continuous. Each paper will be evaluated for 100 marks in the manner as mentioned below:

    Internal (50 marks) : Class Participation/Presentation/Projects/Role-plays/ Reflections

    External (50 marks) : End Term Examination

    ATTENDANCE

    Participants are expected to be present in all classes. Classes will be held over the weekends based on the availability and suitability of the faculty members concerned. For each semester, the academic calendar will be shared with the participants well in advance. For each semester, the academic calendar will be shared with the participants well in advance. To help accommodate missed classes or faculty requests, additional sessions may be held on weekdays. Every student must secure a minimum of 70% attendance in all the subjects taken individually in each semester to be eligible for appearing in the end-term examination. Candidates who do not secure minimum attendance have to submit written assignments on a topic of the evaluator's choice to be eligible for the end-term examination. However, this option will be available in exceptional cases with the prior permission of the Program Coordinator/Co-coordinator.

    NOTE: In case a candidate does not attend a particular class, the class recording shall be available for viewing.
