    The Vidhi Pragati National IP Moot Court Competition 2026, organised by the CIIPC IPR Chair at National Law University Delhi in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, concluded successfully after bringing together distinguished members of academia, policy, and the legal fraternity for a celebration of advocacy and intellectual discourse.

    The competition was kick started on 6th February, 2026 with an inaugural ceremony which was chaired by

    Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University Delhi; Ms. Simrat Kaur, Director at DPIIT; and Mr. Eashan Ghosh, IPR Chair Professor, NLUD, whose presence added significant prestige to the occasion. The moot proposition centered on contemporary issues arising under the Copyright Act and the Trade Marks Act, requiring participants to engage with complex questions of intellectual property law while demonstrating advanced research and advocacy skills. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from eminent law schools across the country. Following a rigorous memorial qualifier, 16 teams were shortlisted

    The competition commenced with a Researcher's Test conducted from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, rigorously assessing the analytical capabilities of the participating teams. The first day concluded with an inaugural dinner, offering participants, dignitaries, and organizers an opportunity to interact and foster meaningful academic exchange.

    The Preliminary Rounds were marked by intellectual rigor and competitive excellence. Preliminary Round I was followed by a high tea, after which teams proceeded to Preliminary Round II. Following the morning sessions and lunch, the teams advancing to the Quarter-Finals were formally announced.

    The following institutions qualified for the Quarter-Finals:

    ● National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi

    ● Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur

    ● Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow

    ● Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai

    ● National Law Institute University, Bhopal

    ● National Law University, Jodhpur

    ● National Law School of India University, Bangalore

    The Quarter-Final rounds, conducted later in the evening, featured compelling arguments that reflected the exceptional preparation and courtroom acumen of the competing teams. The day culminated in a gala dinner at Mayfair, Dwarka, where participants, judges, and distinguished guests gathered in a celebratory setting that fostered meaningful conversations and strengthened academic camaraderie. During the gala dinner, the Semi-Finalists were announced:

    The final day of the competition commenced with the Semi-Final rounds at 10:30 AM, where teams showcased exceptional advocacy and legal acumen. Following closely contested rounds, National Law School of India University, Bangalore and Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai advanced to the Final Round, which began at 3:15 PM. Both teams delivered outstanding performances, making the judges' decision particularly challenging.

    The Final Round was adjudicated by an eminent panel comprising:

    Their incisive observations and deep expertise significantly enriched the quality of deliberations and learning during the competition.

    Best Researcher: Sravanthi Nambirajan, National University of Advanced Legal Studies, Kochi


    Valedictory Ceremony:-

    The event concluded with a dignified Valedictory Ceremony, chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar, National Law University Delhi, and graced by Justice Prathiba M. Singh as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of Ms. Himani Pande, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, Guest of Honor, and Mr. Eashan Ghosh, IPR Chair Professor, NLU Delhi.
