The Uttar Pradesh Government has submitted before the Allahabad High Court that it will open the classrooms of the Rampur Public School (sealed by the State Government on Tuesday) run by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan's Jauhar Trust for internal examination of students.

The submission was made before the bench of Justice Surya Prakash Kesarwani and Justice Anish Kumar Gupta on a plea moved by the executive committee of the Jauhar Trust, inter alia, challenging the move of the State Government to seal the school premises.

The state government sealed the premises on Tuesday after the trust failed to vacate the land despite being served with several notices informing it about the cancellation of the lease of 99 years.

It may be noted that the under the said lease, the government building of the Jauhar research institute was given to the Trust on a Rs 100 yearly lease during the Samajwadi Party rule in the state.

Now, before the HC, the Jauhar Trust, on Thursday, seeking an interim relief submitted that the school premises must not be interfered with till the completion of the ongoing internal examination of students of the institution from Class 1 to 9 and Class 11.

Against this backdrop, while seeking an adjournment in the matter till March 21 due to the non-availability of the Advocate General, the Additional Advocate General Ajit Kumar Singh submitted that the classrooms needed for the examination shall be opened and that no interference in the classrooms shall be caused by the State-respondents during the course of conduct of the examination.

In view of the stand taken by the Additional Advocate General, no Court said that no further order was required to be passed at the stage and therefore, the Court directed the State-respondents to abide by the statement made by the Additional Advocate General and with this, the matter was posted for further hearing on March 21.
