    The Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, BP Dharmadhikari, in extension of a notification issued on March 14 has now passed directions stating that all benches of the High Court, meaning the Principal seat at Bombay, Aurangabad and Nagpur as well as the high Court of Bombay at Goa will function for two hours i.e. 12 noon to 2 pm starting March 17.     The Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, BP Dharmadhikari, in extension of a notification issued on March 14 has now passed directions stating that all benches of the High Court, meaning the Principal seat at Bombay, Aurangabad and Nagpur as well as the high Court of Bombay at Goa will function for two hours i.e. 12 noon to 2 pm starting March 17.

    Furthermore, the office of the Registry will reduce the working strength upto 50% and work from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm (4 hours).

    As for the subordinate courts in Maharashtra, Goa, Union Territory of Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, have been asked to take up only urgent matters like bail applications, anticipatory bail applications, applications for urgent orders or injunctions, remand orders etc. Also, subordinate courts shall endeavor that court working hours are not more than 3 hours and office working hours are not more than 4.

    The Acting Chief Justice has asked lower courts to take steps to reduce the attendance of staff members by about 50% and utilize the staff alternatively in order to allow de-congestion of courts.

    Apart from this, Bar Associations have been asked to ensure that their offices are not open beyond the working hours of the respective courts. Cafeteria and Canteens inside Court premises will also remain closed after working hours.
