In light of the rising cases of COVID19 in Delhi, the Delhi High Court has temporarily amended the process regarding the service of notice, summons and daks.

By the order dated June 03, Chief Justice DN Patel has directed that all documents/notices/summons/daks through physical mode be dispensed with, except there's a specific order to that effect by the court.

The order further directs that instead of physical service of such documents, the same can be supplied through email, fax or WhatsApp.

    The order states that:

'The necessary email address and other details will be required to be furnished by the concerned party seeking to effect the service. The process of sending the documents through electronic mode will continue to be done by the Despatch Branch/Process Serving Agency, in coordination with respective judicial branches and IT Branch from their seats only.'

The order further notes that the conventional method of physical service may be permitted to be restored once the normalcy returns.
