The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to place on record all the press communications and public announcements issued by them in relation to ongoing probe in the Delhi liquor scam case.

Justice Yashwant Varma passed the order while hearing a plea moved by an accused Vijay Nair, the former CEO of an event management company associated with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging that the probe agencies have leaked sensitive information to the media.

Nair argued that the purported leak to the media is in violation of his rights as an accused in the case.

The court has sought response of CBI and ED, while listing the matter for hearing next on November 21.

The court said that it will consider the public communications issued by both the probe agencies and then consider if the media reported on the basis of the said communications or "out of their figment of imagination."

Nair is presently under judicial custody. He was earlier arrested by the CBI. He has now been arrested by ED in the alleged money laundering case connected to the CBI FIR.

As per the FIR registered by CBI, Nair is accused of entering into a criminal conspiracy with other individuals relating to Delhi Government's excise policy of 2021-22.

The FIR names Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as an accused, among various others.
