NLSIU Revises Technical/ System Requirements For Appearing In NLAT 2020; PG Exam Timings Notified

In wake of criticism surrounding inaccessibility of NCLAT 2020, NLSIU Bangalore has revised the Technical/ System Requirements for appearing in the exam.

Technical/ System Requirements

Since NLAT is a "home-based" exam, the University has prescribed following technical requirements for candidates' computer systems:

  • Device: Desktop computers, laptop computers, and Android mobile devices (phones and tablets)
  • Operating System:
    • For Desktops and Laptops: Window 7 or above (Windows 10 recommended), Mac OS 10.13 and above, and Linux (ubuntu versions 18.04, 16.04, 15.04 only) systems
    • For Android Devices: Android version 6 and later
  • Minimum Internet Bandwidth: 512 Kbps minimum

Other stipulations, listed thus, remain unchanged:

Hardware Requirements

· Integrated webcam mandatorily required (minimum resolution of 640x480)

· Integrated microphone mandatorily required (Use of wired/ wireless headphones/ earphones/ other audio devices shall not be permitted)

Other System Settings

· Pop-up blockers on the web browser must be disabled

· Java Script must be enabled

· Antivirus must be disabled

· System time should be is set in accordance with Indian Standard Time

Other System Configurations (Applicable for Desktops and Laptops only)

  • Processor: Core 2 Duo and above
  • Processor speed: 1.5 GHz and above
  • RAM: 1 GB minimum

Further, the University has notified the timing for NLAT PG 2020 examination (LLM Candidates).

  • Reporting time - 5.30 PM
  • Exam Starts - 6 PM
  • Exam Ends - 6.45 PM
  • Exam end time for PWD candidates - 7 PM
