The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Bar Council of India, Delhi High Court Bar Association, and the Bar Associations of all the district courts in a plea filed by the Ministry of Home Affairs seeking clarification on the court's latest order on the Tis Hazari clash matter.

The clarification was sought one a specific direction by the Court that no coercive action to be taken against the lawyers against whom FIRs were lodged by the Delhi Police for the clash that had taken place at the Tis Hazari Court complex.

The MHA is seeking a clarification that this direction is applicable only to the two FIRs which were registered before November 2, and not to subsequent events.

In a special sitting held on Sunday, the bench comprising Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Harishanker had ordered judicial probe into the Tis Hazari fight and directed action against police officials who fired gun shots and delivered lathi blows on lawyers.

The Court had also ordered that no coercive action should be taken against lawyers in the FIRs registered against them.

Earlier, MHA had sought a report from the Delhi Police on the events that had transpired at the Tis Hazari court complex on November 2, explaining the action taken by the police so far in this matter.

In the report, only the actions that led to the said clash have been mentioned. Details about the assault on a Delhi Police personnel that had taken place outside the Saket court on Monday have not been shared in the report.

The reports had appeared on more clashes between three police and the lawyers outside the district court complexes at Karkardooma and Saket. Pursuant to the said reports, many personnel of Delhi Police came out on the streets to protest against the complete inaction towards the alleged assault of certain police officers.
