    In view of the challenge posed by COVID-19 pandemic, all the Judges of the Supreme Court have decided to contribute a sum of Rs. 50,000/- each towards the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund' (PM CARES Fund).

    The PM CARES Fund is utilized to deal with any emergency situation, such as the present crisis in the wake of the Corona virus outbreak.

    Earlier, Justice NV Ramana had donated Rs. 1 lakh each towards the funds managed by PM the fund maintained by the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telengana.

    Former Supreme Court Judge, Justice Deepak Verma had also announced that he will contribute a sum of Rupees Fifty One Lakh to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, in view of the Coronavirus crisis.

    Similarly, all the judges of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and the High Court of Patna have also donated certain fixed amounts for the welfare of the affected persons.
