Master India's new criminal law framework through LiveLaw Academy's Core Criminal Law Course Package, combining comprehensive training in both the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
With the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS) and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS) replacing two of India's foundational criminal law statutes, lawyers, judicial aspirants, prosecutors, police officers, law students, and legal professionals are increasingly required to understand both the substantive and procedural aspects of the country's new criminal law framework.
To help learners build that expertise, LiveLaw Academy has launched two comprehensive live online courses that may be taken individually or as part of a specially priced Core Criminal Law Course Package.
Together, the two programmes provide a structured understanding of criminal law—from defining offences under the BNS to navigating criminal procedure under the BNSS.
Course on Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
The BNS Course, taught by Arun Bhargava, Advocate, judiciary mentor, legal educator, and author, provides a systematic understanding of India's substantive criminal law. The programme covers the general principles of criminal liability, punishments, general exceptions, offences against the human body, women and children, property, the State, and public justice, while integrating landmark judicial decisions, comparative analysis with the Indian Penal Code, and practical problem-solving.
The course consists of 80 live classes (120 teaching hours) and will be conducted from 4 August to 15 December 2026, between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM, five days a week.
Course on Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)
The BNSS Course is led by Justice K. Abraham Mathew (Retd.), former Judge of the High Court of Kerala. The programme focuses on India's new criminal procedural framework, covering every stage of criminal proceedings—from FIR registration, investigation, arrest, search and seizure, and bail to trial, appeals, sentencing, and the technology-driven reforms introduced under the BNSS.
The programme comprises 60 live classes (120 teaching hours) and will run from 4 August to 15 December 2026, between 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM, five days a week.
A Complete Criminal Law Learning Package
While each course is designed as a comprehensive standalone programme, together they offer a complete understanding of India's new criminal law regime.
To make this learning pathway more accessible, LiveLaw Academy is offering the Core Criminal Law Course Package, combining both courses at a special price of ₹9,999 (inclusive of taxes). Purchased separately, the two courses are priced at ₹5,499 (BNS) and ₹6,499 (BNSS).
The package includes 240 hours of expert-led live instruction, six months' access to recordings, downloadable study material, curated case law compilations, and certificates of participation upon successful completion.
