AISA student leader Neha Bora has moved the Delhi High Court challenging a notice issued by the Delhi Police directing her to execute bond of Rs. 10,000 with a surety in order to maintain peace during the period of inquiry.

As per Bora's legal team, an urgent hearing before the vacation bench is being sought.

Bora was detained on Friday evening. She was later released the next morning. She was detained from the protest march in Mandi House.

As per Delhi Police, she was released after completing formalities under section 65 of the Delhi Police Act.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was also placed under preventive arrest under sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) with police citing apprehension of a breach of peace. He was released by Special Executive Court on Sunday evening.

The detentions came amid protests by opposition parties, student groups and civil society organisations against the SIR, which they say risks disenfranchising eligible voters.
